ACES 7 - 9 YEARS
Hot Shots
Hot Shots classes introduce youngsters to tennis, with the aim of playing the game, in good style, as soon as possible. The Leader System, which has evolved over thirty years, has been very successful in producing not only good social players, but champions from underage to international standard.
ROOKIES 9 – 11 YEARS
Hot Shots
As players move along the Hot Shots pathway, more advanced skills, tactics and court positioning are added to build a stronger game style. Court etiquette and sportsmanship are also introduced to enhance the Rookies knowledge and enjoyment of tennis.
PLAYERS 11 – 14 YEARS
These classes are the last phase of the Hot Shots programme giving players the finishing skills, tactics and court positioning to control a yellow tennis ball with both touch and power. The player will now have the ability to get the maximum enjoyment from the game of tennis for the rest of their life.
TENNIS COACHING AND MATCH PLAY
We encourage players who can serve and score to have skills day and a match play day. This allows players to put new skills to the test in a game situation, as is done in football, netball & soccer.
JUNIOR CLUB FOR SET PLAYERS 9- 16 YEARS
The Junior Club is for those who have the necessary skills and knowledge to play sets. The programme will include singles, doubles, and mixed doubles play, and other social days such as ‘King of the Mountain”, “Teams”, and “Tin & Bottle” Days. Club Professional Scott Marshall will organise the Club’s activities at the East Fremantle Lawn Tennis Club and will give tips on court positioning, doubles tactics and court etiquette. Play will be fully supervised, in a friendly social atmosphere, giving boys and girls a chance to meet new friends and old, in a pleasant and safe environment.
JUNIOR PENNANT TEAMS
The Tennis West inter-club teams competition is a home and away series similar to football and netball competition.
ADULT COACHING
These classes are designed for beginners to advanced adult players who want to learn the game, or brush up on their strokes. The atmosphere is informal and the emphasis will be to hit a lot of balls.
